Above is the artist’s rendering of our new worship facilities located at 310 W. Pancake. We are currently in the remodel process. When the project is finished, it will give us 70,000 square feet all under one roof. In addition to this facility, we will have a 9,600 square foot Family Life Center.
We are currently awaiting the completion of the engineered mechanical drawings for the main facility so we can submit them for the city’s approval. The most recent progress on the main facility was the completion of the concrete work (26,000 square feet) on the second floor.
3-2-09 - The Lord willing, work on the outside will begin sometime in late March or early April.
3-15-09 - Work is continuing on the Family Life Center. The duct work for the heating and air is in place. As soon as the electrical work is finished, the units will be set in place. Work on the electrical is progressing.
4-26-09 - Almost all the wire has been pulled, and all the lights are almost hung in the Family Life Center. We have also made a lot of progress on the concrete work between the two buildings. We are waiting the arrival of the trusses so we can begin framing some walls. We are currently researching the best options for flooring. We are still waiting for the final engineered drawings on the main facility.
5-3-09 - All the lights are hung and are functioning in the Family Life Center. There is still some concrete work to do on the outside, as well as landscaping.
5-18-09 - All the concrete work is completed in regards to the Family Life Center. They fired up the AC units on the Family Life Center today. All went well. We will be setting trusses today. Work on the front of the main building should begin today or tomorrow.
5-22-09 - Work started today on the front of the main building. Crews cut out concrete in preparation for setting the pillars for the portico. The engineer informed us that we should have all the engineered plans in our hands within the month.
7-3-09 - We ran into some snags on the engineered plans, but we hope to have them in hand soon. Work is progressing nicely inside the Family Life Center. We vote this Sunday night (7-5-09) to sign the papers for a sizeable construction loan.
7-7-09 - Church voted on Sunday night, July 5, 2009 to proceed with a 12 month construction loan.
9-28-09 - After several very productive work nights, we have made some good progress on the Family Life Center. We have a couple of short sections of wall to put up, sheet rock, and tape and mud. We've already finished texturing in the downstairs bathrooms, kitchen, and foyer area. We've chosen the flooring for the gym floor. We went with http://www.gerflorsport.com/index.html. We've also chosen a landscaper. He's supposed to have the sprinkler system installed and seed in the ground before the end of the first week of October.
10-1-09 - The downstairs walls in the bathrooms, foyer, kitchen, and gym area are primed, textured, and painted.
10-25-09 - The sprinkler system is installed. We were given approximately 36 trees, and the landscaper got them planted. We will have to wait until spring to plant grass.
11-14-09 - Tremendous work day today. Nearly 80 people, young and old, showed up to work. Much was accomplished. The gym area was cleaned and made ready for the flooring company; the foyers, bathrooms, and kitchen were cleaned and made ready for tile; the remaining walls upstairs were built, sheetrocked, taped and mudded; and work on the ceiling tile was begun.
Some much needed clean up work was done on the inside and outside of the existing building. The exterior door openings have been prepared on the existing building, and they started putting the new metal on the outside that will match the metal on the Family Life Center.
12-09-09 - Much progress has been made since the last update. They almost have the existing building completely covered with the new metal. It looks nice. The next step will be the stucco.
The Family Life Center will be complete enough for us to meet there for our Vision Night on December 13, 2009. The entire facility has been painted; all of the tile work is complete; the bathrooms are complete, and the gym floor is installed. We still need to hang doors; finish hanging the ceiling tile upstairs; complete the upstairs shower area; finish the bleachers; and furnish the concession area.
1-20-10 - Received word today from the architect that all of the plans have been completed and sent to the city for their approval. PTL!
We are awaiting the arrival of the interior doors for the Family Life Center. Once the doors are hung, and a few other minor details are taken care of, we will be able to make application for an Occupancy Permit.
Plans are being made to begin framing up the walls in the existing building at the beginning of February.
